The Individualism Experience
It was last nite's Pong Nan concert in HK Arts Festival. This yr AF invites Pong Nan as the performer for the pop music component of the Festival, and it was held in the Studio Theatre of Culture Centre (nvr been to this venue before, and the scale is not as big as one held in City Hall). A small surprise to me is tat the show attracted quite some families together with children, but not many AJs LOL (well i didnt think Pong Nan's 'target mkt gp' r children rite?)The show is a good one, esp. appreciated the atmosphere of the audience which ppl are 'willing' to stand up n cheer as the performer asked us so. In many local concerts, ppl r just too 'dull' and sat on their seats, seems like not enjoying the show at all. The show was set by the theme "Individualism Experience" and actually it's just a means to link up Pong Nan's songs... however it striked me in the beginning, and as the performer said, the show is trying to keep our brain 'thinking' our way of daily lifes - too monotonous n full of stereotypes (well i admit im quite a big fans of stereotypes LOL). It's funny tat it strikes me in a way tat the show makes me think my BLOG here is recently not properly written! Recently i always just scribble sth descriptive and place it up HERE, but not realli sth from deep inside me with considerable thoughts. Oh well, at least now this piece i considered finishing with thoughts hehe. I consider the best part of the show is the bkgd visual effects, i cant keep my eyes off from all those ideas for each of the topics (a lot of visual images, street interviews... v contemporary arts type), and i tot i'd like to try a piece from my own self as well later (hope i can done it here later).
Anyway, a refresh nite i hv and some good songs as well. Should visit THIS if u r interested in programs of HKAF.
