Robii Weekly
- Have a bit of conversations w Chung in MSN two days ago... am surpised by breaking the news that he is leaving his bank job and become a POLICE soon =) well am realli happy to know tat since u hv finally acheive your 'dream'... also i think u will sure look very handsome on the police uniform =P good luck and hope u every success
- It has been abt a month since i've back from my second SG trip... hm... many fds hv asked me this question repeatedly during this month: "oh... u think it will work?" well even myself dun hv the answer, but as long as i got the 'heart', i think it can hold... only if one party gives up...
- With a body weight of 58kg, I got 50kg+ of lean muscle and 8% of body fat plus ard 2kg+ of bone mass ...wooohhooooo.... haha i m not good to eat la... too lean =P
- Another 'accomplishment'! Finished the book - Bringing Down the House within 2 week's time (got it on 8th and finished just tonite) ... kinda hv the impulse to go for trying a hand of blackjack too =p

Money Minded HK ppl
HK ppl are notorious for their money-minded and opportunistic characters. It is recently damn fierce: saw young ppl (talking abt u students probably) with the horse-racing page of newspaper in Delifrance; everyone is talking about stocks,two of my fds who NEVER touch stocks r also joining this 'biggest legit game' in city by joining the IPO... well indeed i may just be one of these notorious ppl, but i m very despised at those who know nothing and just jumps in, and then bragging n talking loud abt how how successful their investment... even without knowing the business their stock buying r in!
This piece of news appeared in one of the headliners of newspaper... the journalist is probably playing sentiments n writing much more like a 'story', but then all these 'characters' makes me feel soooooo hateful n disgusted... again i HATE shallow HK ppl!
P.S. I think today i'm a bit mean to Ant during office hours in MSN, wat he suggested reminds me of my experience of Fantasy Golf: u think u did a lot of researchs n picked ur players (stocks), turned out that they r not doing well on Day 1, u got nervous and whined abt their performance, switched to another one... and Day 2 the player picked up his streak and outperformed others... u whined even more on u missing the chance... but step back n think - u lose nothing... tis's just a game! okie stock mkt is talking abt money, but do think abt it... if u cannot take the risk... why in the game? tat's all abt GAMES! ahem.. maybe this picks up my investment mentality, thanks Tiger Woods hahaaahaha

新股掀熱潮 散戶也瘋狂
大連港申請表供不應求 2006年4月20日
【明報專訊】月底掛牌的新股上海集優及大連港進行招股，雖然分別於今明截止認購，但在恒生指數昨升穿16800點創出5年半新高兼巿值逼近10萬億下，散戶認購意欲極為高漲，其中獲和黃入股的大連港更出現申請表格「供不應求」現象。
大連港的上市保薦人BNP百富勤準備了80萬份「白表」(即散戶以個人身分認購)，上周招股首日即派出逾20萬份，昨日更有部分派表行表格短缺。集優的反應則被大連港比下去，銀行未見搶表情况，有散戶更表示希望以3份集優表格，換來1份大連港表格。
在這股海狂潮中，有巿民掏出血汗積蓄申請新股，認為「抽中等於必賺」，以求在認購狂潮中分一杯羹。
在觀塘裕民坊，攝氏30度的高溫下氣氛異常緊張，一批市民拚命讀書寫字，恍如要參加一場全民考試﹕婆婆瞇着老花眼，研究1萬元支票上款應該寫給誰﹔裝修工人不懂得如何填表，更搞不清是自己入股的公司經營什麼業務。那邊廂有人高呼﹕「抽到一手都發達﹗」
觀塘區每戶入息中位數是每月13,000元，但昨天，這個社區像一夕間富起來。護衛員一擲2萬元申請4手大連港股票，是她3個月的薪金。的士司機豪擲7萬元入票，是載客1000次車程收入。
銀行內座無虛席，股民佔領着坐椅迷頭迷腦在填表。有人把申請表擱在大腿，攤開支票簿，豪氣地揮筆疾書，4000、8000、10,000元……像一場豪賭，大疊大疊地推出籌碼。
「抽到兩手，我就發達」
股民爭奪着銀行的兩個釘書機，把支票釘在申請表上，釘書釘也用光，惹來一陣騷動。一份一份的申請表和千千萬萬元的支票飄進收集箱。一名老伯說﹕「抽到兩手，我就發達。」
熱潮參與者有不少草根人士，記者在銀行觀察1小時，約有100張表格投箱，上面填寫的職業，是主婦、退休人士、文員、護衛員、推銷員、臨時工人。
這批草根階層不少都目不識丁，大嬸錯把支票上款誤寫給「匯豐銀行」(應該寫給招股單位)，向銀行職員求助。維修工人無助地四處張望，「申請表上要填英文，我不懂得英文，怎辦﹖」旁邊的師奶教他寫上「worker」。記者問他知否上海集優的業務﹖他支吾以對﹕「好似係機器」。得悉「大連港」又在招股，他又興致勃勃去打探大連港在中國哪裏。
70多歲的鄧婆婆經驗較老到，準備充足。原來這位社工也醉心於股票，一老一嫰趁午飯時間一起鑽研。她用了4萬元買大連港及上海集優。
鄧婆婆說，以往她只愛投資藍籌股如匯豐及長實，「近年玩股仔搵到錢，叫做搵到餐晏仔。」至於兩隻新股業務，她就承認「知少少啦」。她近年戰績包括買入了「飲酒那一隻股票」(王朝酒業)，上月又放了「有個金字那隻」(靈寶黃金)，每隻賺了800至1000元。
鄧婆婆﹕輸了兒子賠給我
鄧婆婆說玩股心得是「千萬不要長揸，一上(掛牌)就要扔」。她說最慘烈一次是10年前「首長國際」輸掉20萬，不過「輸了兒子又賠給我。」兒子不會勸她嗎﹖「他自己玩得更狠，輸掉整層樓﹗」她見好即收「富貴險中求嘛﹗只是4萬元，形勢不對頭我就放」。她去年賺了數萬元，「足夠到美加旅行」。

Adrenaline Rushing

The pre-market price fickles around 3.95 and 4.00, n settled at 3.95... i've saved $500 on my entry =P

(already off from high of 4.7!!!) i hv seconds of blankness and then its a BIG RUSH of ADRENALINE into my brain...wat's going on?? the next few mins am in ecstasy, contemplating how big is the quick money i m getting... OMG, this must be THE most quickest profit i have ever earned so far! Even the phone-in radio program is talking abt the stock! oh but the host said sth quite alarming... beware of having a 'shooting star' at market close today, hm....

Am already in a state of frenzy in the past 20 mins or so and tot the stock price to shoot $5 or even more more, without regarding the falling prices already. Just hope there is a technical rebound and whatsoever... it's back to 4.375/ 4.4 - 4.4 / 4.425... oh dear i hope it's back to 4.5 .... and i placed a SELL there

The price now flops to 4.175 / 4.2... oh my god i cant wait to sell as i see its trying down the strong 'support' at 4.2 (whenever price hit below that, the Deutsch came n swept the stocks)... i finally sold IT, but strange enuff, there's not much a sense of ecstasy, but rather keep thinking of how the profit was IF it'd selling like hours or mins ago... and even later... i see the price rising a bit to 4.2 / 4.225 ... damn!... am soo impatient that i wanna get in again... but finally didnt get any even at mkt close
Read an article quite some time ago abt the psychological effect on winning a $1 vs losing $1 from the stock mkt... it's realised that the degree of 'satisfaction' in winning that $1 is only measured half of the 'pain' of losing $1, that explains when the price shoots to $4.XX, am damn super optimistic and think the price can keep rocketeering, even ignoring previous prices... but then when i sold the stock finally in PM, it made me feel like LOSING the money right from 4.7 to the price i sold... wow the 'pain' is realli setting into my thoughts! tat's why even i m gaining from this windfall trade... i m still not as happy as i got a profit from just hours of trade...

Devilish
Been to a concert "Mozart & Shostakovich" by Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra tonite, wow and that was quite a special experience - havent listened to this kind of pieces in a concert. The first half is a very typical one - Symphony by Mozart. The second half is 'extraordinary', the first piece is "Deviance on Paganini's Caprice No.24", it gives me the feel of ghosts / phantom and very 'devilish'... the second piece is the Chamber Symphony by Shostakovich, it's also a very special one - what i read from the brochure is tat it's sth abt the time of Stalin n Soviet-ism - very gloomy, dark, and 'espionage' feel. One more thing abt the concert is that all the violinists are not sitting but rather standing and played the music, the feel is more casual like and also special as well. Anyway a wonderful experience tonite =)
btw, i hv to thank Antho for 'giving' me this ticket as he's now enjoying his trip haha.

Project 2xx8 - LAUNCH!
Today is the launch day of the 2xx8 portfolio, but the market seems to have peaked in yesterday =P and many have suggested that there maybe a s-t correction very soon... well let see how this portfolio is doing!
The portfolio is composed of the 16 stocks tat's mentioned in my previous entry, and i've made up 3 ways to calculate the performance of the portfolio: (1) By their mkt. capitalisation as at 1.4.06; (2) Buying 1 lot per every stock (by the price as at 1.4.06); (3) Assuming a $1M fund buying equal portion from each stock (i.e. each stock invests in $62,500, the no. of stocks bought is shown below), so here r all the infos:-
