Sandy Lam
Probably a MAJOR event in the AJ community in HK (comparable to parties!), almost all my fds in the circle will go to (at least) one of her concerts which starts today, and so many of em hv already been feverishly discussing her new song & new CD some time ago... honestly, m not being a fans of her and didnt listen to her songs before (of course except those of her big hits), its always an unsolved mystery to me why she is such a popular gay icon (maybe HK's Kylie Minogue?). Recently listened to her 'Truth Color'... the first image comes to my mind is: party queens wiggling hard in parties! def. good song w great house music beats... probably best for parties... is this one reason tat explains why she's popular among the circle? me also read some articles weeks ago, being an interview w her in a magazine... she also realised tat she's the 'icon' as well! the article also brings out a story on a pair of couple, one being how 'silly' (or i shd say romantic indeed) to fly to sandy's taipei home n asked her for autographing all the CDs owned by his bf, just for the sake to make him happy n to save their relationship, however in vain (the rel. i mean); and another one saying that if u wanna try someone is in the AJ community, ask him two questions: 1.do u like sandy lam's song 2. do u own every of her CDs. if both questions r a yes.. then u know the answer! All these i think meant sth, that is: her music was supported by most party animals! also her other music is w strong personal style, and always trendy (its said she's the first female to introduce dance music in her songs in hk?) others may said that its becoz of her feminine voice? and combining w her asian female lookalike style... all these portraying her as a sex symbol among AJs...
Well, no one knows the exact answer actually (sounds likeX-philes!) maybe u can share w me your thoughts... btw, i like her new song 'truth color' too! feels like goin to party =P
