NO MORE reclaimation!

Harbor promise not kept

The government is cheating the public by planning commercial developments on its highly contentious Central reclamation project, a lawmaker claimed.

That's quite an accusation to the government that it cheats the public, but I do agree FULLY this time!!! When will the government stop using that 'traffic-overloading' excuses to cover up its secret deal w/ those property developers to make big monies???
There's obviously no need for any more shopping arcades in the area... we got IFCs just opposite to the reclaimed land, the Star Ferry will be moving to nowhere (the distance to TST is too short to claim as a 'boat trip' for foreigners) ... on the other hand, the excuses of constructing new roads to relieve traffic jams r also not conceivable n dumbass... what's the use of it if the new roads attract more traffic? The govt will claim there r not enough roads again and reclaim land endlessly, great example is the already-reclaimed Victoric Park Rd in Causeway Bay... it serves totally no purpose to extend that part of road into 4 lanes, since the most congested part of the road is from outside / exit of the cross-harbor tunnel, NOT that part of the road (moreover, they need to demolish the old pedestrian flyover which is now in the middle of the road, and to build a new one again... wat a no-brainer!) and the reconstruction is causing slow traffic in that part of the road - more traffic congestions! These 'spaghetti of roads' are just causing a vicious cycle and the govt will have an endless excuse to continue dumping stones into the Victoria Harbor.
It's notorious enough for the govt to reveal the plan today and uncover its real deal to earn some $10b+ of money by selling the commercial development part of the land to some property developers again... the govt shd be the leader in protecting our most vaulable Harbor... and yet it's the one who's damaging it the most.
